Thousands Experiencing Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Weather Systems
Approximately 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland were left without power on Monday morning after intense storm systems passed over the state, bringing strong winds hitting 109km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Broad Damage
Residents observed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of seven centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities confirmed that different parts across the state had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Victorian Climate Difficulties
Simultaneously, around 1,000 households in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after the capital city experienced its wettest day in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations received 598 requests for assistance across the state, primarily for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

During the peak on the previous day, in excess of 28k electricity consumers in Victoria were without power.
Climate Outlook
Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tuesday was forecast to be the most rainy day, with persistent severe weather risk expected across different parts of both regions.
Health Warning
Medical authorities warned that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after historical occurrences where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
